Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Homepage Directory is a product and sub-brand of Snappy Tech ("Snappy Tech," "we," "us," or "our"). Snappy Tech is the legal entity that operates homepagedirectory.net, processes all payments, and is responsible for your data under this Privacy Policy. Homepage Directory is a curated web directory where site owners submit their websites for permanent or boosted placement.

When you purchase a listing, your contract and payment is with Snappy Tech. References to "Homepage Directory" and "Snappy Tech" in this policy are interchangeable.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

Email address — required to create an account and receive transactional emails (listing confirmation, displacement alerts).
Website URL — the site you submit for listing.
Listing content — name, tagline, description, category, and other details about your site.
Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

Analytics — we use Vercel Analytics to measure page views, referrers, and aggregate usage. No personally identifiable information is stored in analytics.
Server logs — standard web server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited. Retained for up to 30 days.
Cookies — Supabase sets an authentication session cookie when you log in. No third-party advertising cookies are used.

Information from third parties

URL scanning — when you submit a URL, we scan it using Firecrawl to extract publicly available metadata (favicon, Open Graph image, brand colors, meta description). We do not store the full page content.
Stripe — we receive a Stripe customer ID and transaction confirmation. No raw payment data.

3. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account and listings
To process payments via Stripe
To send transactional emails (listing confirmation, displacement notifications, receipts)
To generate AI-enhanced listing descriptions using your submitted URL and content
To display your listing publicly in the directory
To measure and improve site performance

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising targeting.

4. Data Sharing

We share data only with the services necessary to operate Homepage Directory:

Supabase — database and authentication (servers in the US and EU)
Stripe — payment processing
Resend — transactional email delivery
Vercel — hosting and analytics
Anthropic — AI description generation (your URL and submitted content are sent to the API)
Firecrawl — URL metadata scanning

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.

5. Your Listing Is Public

When you submit a site to Homepage Directory, the listing (name, URL, tagline, description, category, brand color) is publicly displayed on the site and indexed by search engines. If you delete your listing, it will be removed from the directory, but we cannot control third-party caches or archives.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and listing data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial record-keeping purposes (e.g., payment records, which Stripe may retain per their policies).

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, database-level encryption at rest, and restricted access to production systems. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Homepage Directory is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. International Users

Homepage Directory is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the site from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the site, you consent to this transfer.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Opt out of marketing emails (transactional emails cannot be opted out of while your account is active)

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
